Well Planning

When you choose Capital Directional for Well Planning, you get seamless support at every level – from the smallest detail to the final, end-result.

Our well planners have decades of experience and your success is their top priority. Our well planning department is available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for your needs, whether critical or not. They are there to help you in any way to ensure the success of your drilling operation.

We begin by consulting extensively with the drilling engineer to ensure that we create a well plan that meets their needs.

A robust well plan blueprint is created using Landmark’s trusted, state-of-the-art program, Compass.

You can depend on us to identify hazards such as preexisting wells and to avoid complications with the use of accurate, anti-collision monitoring. We can help you maximize your return on investment with ongoing, proactive collaboration and by being transparent.

As part of our Well Planning services, we also provide the following:

Daily Reporting:

We provide daily planned-versus-actual updates and lease/hard line distance monitoring to fully monitor and ensure that each well is drilled as planned. Adjustments can be made on-the-fly as needed. Communication is ongoing between the field and office during the entire drilling process.

Anti-Collision Checks:

Anti-Collision checks can be done with every survey involving offset wells and can help you to anticipate risks, drill faster, and ensure the safety of the operation.

Torque and Drag Modeling:

Also available to you are detailed torque and drag reports both pre and post run to help you configure the right tools for any job.

Survey Management, Including Gyro Surveying:

Real-time surveying to increase certainty of well bore placement, prevent trips, reduce costs, and improve TVD control.

End of Well Reports:

At the end of the job the customer receives a detailed completion report, final plot, and final survey reports. This report includes annotated key data points and can be readily submitted by the customer to State and Federal Agencies.
